Dyan Bryson

Dyan Bryson is a patient engagement strategist and has forged the way for this patient engagement space since 2007 as owner/founder of Inspired Health Strategies, LLC. After spending 20+ years in traditional sales, sales leadership and marketing at Merck and Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) Dyan has spent the last 14 years laser focused on patient engagement, patient advocacy, patient-centricity. Dyan makes the life sciences industry talk of being patient centered very real.

When inspired by a project she did for a large pharma client Dyan realized the industry was missing the opportunity to include patients/patient insights in drug and device development from pre-IND through commercialization. She has developed and executed projects that have produced behavior change, improved adherence rates, and contributed to the bottom line. The results of these initiatives prove that being patient-centered is not just an altruistic thing but is a viable business model.

And now the FDA and EMA both agree in issuing Patient Focused Drug Development (PFDD)/Patient Focused Medicines Development (PFMD) guidance. Dyan has been practicing the principles of PFDD/PFMD long before the concepts were incorporated into guidance.

Dyan designs technology (apps/platforms) to collect patient reported outcomes (PROs), perform analytics to garner the insights necessary to ensure patient input from pre-IND through commercialization. With her help companies have created patient-centered study protocols, improved the diversity of clinical trials, captured insights to inform business decisions, understand what happens when the drug and device is in the real world. She has also developed training modules and workshops to help organizations adapt to patient-centered thinking – as the DOES demand a change in thinking – this is hard work!

Dyan regularly speaks to industry about her thinking and practice. She has also taught at the Masters level at Philadelphia University. Her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts/Business from Millersville University, Millersville, PA, USA helps her be creative in her approach to managing business issues. She is one assignment away from completing her MBA in Pharmaceutical Marketing from St Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA, USA.

Dyan resides in Springfield, NJ, USA
